iMac 24″ hard drive replacement

Recently my fiancee‘s iMac 24″ was having some issues.  She had come back to the computer to find it frozen up, having to force-reboot.  When the machine rebooted, it showed the feared “flashing question mark” icon, indicating the system could not find a usable/bootable OS on the machine.  Inevitably, we ended up having to replace the drive.

My new old MacBook

So, due to some software development projects I’m starting (which you’ll be hearing more about soon), I’ve been needing a more modern Mac to work on.  Fortunately, a friend of mine, Dan Udey, just upgraded to a newer machine, so I figured he may be willing to sell his “old” 1.83ghz MacBook. eMate 300 battery cell replacement

Yes, another post about the eMate 300! I successfully replaced the rechargeable battery cells in the battery pack over the weekend. I actually had to do it twice, as the first time I didn’t do a decent enough job of ensuring all points of contact were contacting enough.

Getting the eMate 300 online – wirelessly

Alright, it’s online! After a multiple-day process, my eMate 300 is now successfully online, and wirelessly to boot!
